In line with Geoscience Australia's business directions, our Remote Sensing Group has been renamed as the National Earth Observation Group (NEO). NEO sits within Geosciene Australia's Geospatial and Earth Monitoring Division alongside National Mapping and Information, Earth Monitoring, Groundwater and Risk Impact Analysis. The name reflects the Group's evolving role of scientific data analysis, with a focus on national issues, particularly environment and emergency response. We will continue to collect satellite data, build and maintain the national remote sensing archive and distribute data, however scientific data analysis will be the main focus.
