The winners of the Geologi2010 short film competition were announced on 17 October 2010, during Geoscience Australia’s annual Open Day, to conclude celebrations for Earth Science Week 2010.

Over 250 students participated in the national competition with entries from all states and territories. Students had to submit a film based on the theme ‘Ever-changing Earth', aimed at showing students the role Earth Science plays in our interactions with an Ever-changing Earth. We received films about volcanoes, geological time, earthquakes and plate tectonics.

The films were judged on how well they fit the theme of ‘Ever-changing Earth’, the earth science content and accuracy as well as their originality, creativity and overall production quality. Winners were named in two categories; primary and high school.
