Discovery and Access

Making data and collections accessible helps advance the understanding of national geology, energy resource potential and to inform decision-making through reuse and open access of data. This promotes efficient and sustainable exploration and development of energy resources supporting the Future Made in Australia plan.

Data discovery is facilitated through the online National Offshore Petroleum Information Management System (NOPIMS). Data is accessible either directly via NOPIMS, or it is packaged by the Repository’s Client Services team, who are responsible for any items not directly downloadable, more bespoke data requests and support and advice regarding the collections.

Enquiries

Requests for data can be submitted either via NOPIMS or via email to ausgeodata@ga.gov.au. Fees are charged on a partial cost recovery basis for costs of copying data, media and delivery. See the current Price Schedule [ PDF 79.8 KB] [ DOC 340.5 KB].

Physical samples that fall under the framework are also discoverable through NOPIMS. For other collections or any enquiries, please contact us on ausgeosamples@ga.gov.au.
