The N H (Doc) Fisher Geoscience Library is the premier geoscience library in Australia. It was established in 1946 and has an extensive collection of earth sciences material. In 2007 the library was named in honour of Doc Fisher, the former Chief Geologist and fourth Director of the Bureau of Mineral Resources, Geology and Geophysics.
The library provides services to geoscience organisations, universities, research centres, the mining and petroleum industries and the public.

Our Library is available during business hours by appointment only. To make an appointment to access publications within our library, or for any library related enquiries, please email reference.library@ga.gov.au.
