An error identified with the representation of a real world feature in the database as determined either during Validation and Testing processes, feedback from users or general review by GA or their representatives.
FEATURE TYPE (FEATURETYPE) [String; No; 32; Pop_Req] The code which identifies the type of topographic feature represented
Error
ERRONEOUS FEATURE TYPE
(ERRONEOUSFEATURETYPE)
[String; No; 32; Pop_Req]
The feature type of the erroneous feature in question.
ERRONEOUS PID
(ERRONEOUSPID)
[Long Integer; No; 8; Pop_Dep]
The PID value of the erroneous feature in question. If a PID value has been assigned to the erroneous feature it must be populated in this field. If no PID value has been assigned to the erroneous feature this item may be left blank.
ERRONEOUS OID
(ERRONEOUSOID)
[Long Integer; No; 8; Pop_Req]
The oid value of the erroneous feature in question.
ERROR NUMBER
(ERRORNUMBER)
[Long Integer; No; 6; Pop_Dep]
A unique error number assigned for cross reference purposes. Population of this item should only be conducted on direction by GEOSCIENCE AUSTRALIA.
FEATURE CREATION DATE
(CREATIONDATE)
[Date; Yes; 0; 0; 36; Pop_Aut]
Date of creation of feature in the database. This field will be entered/edited automatically by GEOSCIENCE AUSTRALIA.
DATE OF CORRECTION
(CORRECTIONDATE)
[Date; Yes; 0; 0; 36; Pop_Dep]
The date of correction by a producer to the identified erroneous feature. This item is only populated on correction of the error and not when entry is made for notification purposes.
LEVEL OF IMPORTANCE
(IMPORTANCE)
[String; Yes; 6; Pop_Req]
The level of importance of the error;
ERROR ENTERED BY
(ENTEREDBY)
[String; No; 12; Pop_Req]
The name/login of the operator who discovered the error during internal maintence/edgematching.
COMMENTS
(COMMENTS)
[String; No; 1000; Pop_Req]
Additional comments supplied by operator to describe the exact nature of the error.
FEATURE RETIREMENT DATE
(RETIREMENTDATE)
[Date;Yes; 0; 0; 36; Pop_Aut]
Date of retirement of feature in the database. This field will be entered/edited automatically by GEOSCIENCE AUSTRALIA.
PERSISTENT IDENTIFIER
(PID)
[Long Integer; Yes; 8; Pop_Aut]
This field will be entered/edited automatically by GEOSCIENCE AUSTRALIA.
EDIT CODE
(EDITCODE)
[Short Integer; Yes; 2; Pop_Dep]
A number allowed for ease of symbology of errors or production notes. This code is for production purposes and therefore for producers internal use only and will not be validated.
The comments field should hold sufficient information for the error to be addressed at a later date.
The comments field should at least indicate whether the error is related to the spatial or atribute representation or both.
When it is a spatial error, reference should be given to the reason if known, such as interrelationship between lake and rainforest or user feedback indicates incorrect position investigate.
When it is a attribute error, the specific fields affected should be noted if possible.
In all cases where information is available on what corrective action should be taken, it should be included or referenced e.g. VAT report for X5012 map number - see additional information.
Importance ratings:
High - means there is a systematic error along an entire, or significant portion, of either Geodata Tile or Map tile boundary. It could also indicate a general error in representation throughout a Geodata or Map tile extent. E.g datum shift error, elevation representation in contours incorrect, complete mismatch of roads along a tile boundary.
Medium - means there is a spatial mismatch or a spatial and attribute mismatch of certain features at that location
Low - means there is a attribute mismatch of certain features at that location.
