Distinctive Characteristics: |
- Figure 2.7.1.7 shows a free range piggery, where part of the layout is circular to enable groups of pigs to be rotated at minimum stress to the pigs and operators.
- Shade shelters are visible in each of the paddocks. These are not permanent structures and may be moved over time.
- A central handling area is present in the hub of the paddocks spread around the circle layout.
- Access lanes are present, leading to the centre hub of the circular layout and along the centre of the rectangular paddocks
