Distinctive Characteristics: |
- Public Boat Ramps provide access for launching or retrieval of vessels from the water.
- Figure: 2.6.1.1 identifies that there are no private buildings in the vicinity, instead there is a large cleared area. This highlights that the Boat Ramp is a public Boat Ramp and not a private Boat Ramp.
- Orthophotography, as illustrated in Figure: 2.6.1.1a displays evidence of a boat nearby. This can sometimes highlight that there is a Boat Ramp.

2.6.1.2 Example 2

Distinctive Characteristics: |
- Public Boat Ramps provide access for launching or retrieval of vessels from the water.
- In coastal areas and large perennial waterbodies Boat Ramps may be in the same vicinity as jetties and wharfs, where sailors congregate. Boat ramps are normally in more sheltered areas such as small bays or on the protected side of a peninsula.
- Parking facilities are generally nearby.
