Geocentric Datum of Australia 2020 available for testing

The Intergovernmental Committee on Surveying and Mapping (ISCM) has released information to aid in the uptake of the Geocentric Datum of Australia 2020 (GDA2020).

The Intergovernmental Committee on Surveying and Mapping (ISCM) has released information to aid in the uptake of the Geocentric Datum of Australia 2020 (GDA2020) and provide time for software developers to update and test their software before GDA2020 is officially released.

The Geocentric Datum of Australia 2020 Interim Release Note includes the parameters to transform  between: GDA94 and GDA2020, and ITRF2014 and GDA2020.

The update to the Recognized-value standard of measurement of position, and hence the national datum from GDA94 to GDA2020, will occur in late March. Until then, GDA94 remains the national datum.

To download a copy of the GDA2020 Interim Release Note or to find more information on GDA2020 please visit the ICSM website on Modernising Australia's Datum.
