The Minister for Resources and Northern Australia Matt Canavan today released Geoscience Australia’s report ‘Prospective hydrogen production regions of Australia’.
Geoscience Australia was engaged by the Department of Industry, Innovation and Science, on behalf of the National Hydrogen Taskforce, to develop maps that show areas in Australia with high potential for future hydrogen production.
The maps show that every state and territory in Australia has regions that are highly prospective for hydrogen production, with over 200,000 square kilometres of land rated as highly prospective for supporting renewable hydrogen production.
